About the Series

The Nicholson Lecture Series began in 2004. The series, funded in part through the Nicholson W.D. & Laura Nell
Nicholson Family Chair in Integrative Medicine, produces roundtable discussions on integrative healthcare topics of interest to the medical community and the public.

About the Sponsors

Dr. Dan Nicholson and his wife, Elaine, established the first professorship in integrative medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston—one of just a few such endowments in the United States. Established in memory of Dr. Nicholson’s father and mother, the W.D. and Laura Nell Nicholson Family Chair in Integrative Medicine supports the integration of conventional and alternative medicine in clinical practice, education and research at UTMB.

Dr. Victor S. Sierpina, a UTMB professor of family medicine with tenure, presently holds the Nicholson Professorship position.
